So, it’s half term holiday in the UK or maybe you just need some sun before winter really kicks in. Dubai is one of the hotspots for that desired dose of vitamin D. They also have a number of beach-side hotels and resorts to pick from, so the only question left is: what to pack for your trip to Dubai? Here’s our little list of essentials for your holiday.
A beach bag that can pack flat in your luggage or could be used as a carry-on. This one by & Other Stories is perfect in size and packability, with chic red stripes and an extra set of longer leather handles so you can sling it over your shoulder.
Packing one of these Anaskela recycled towels for each member of the family still only takes up a fraction of the luggage space. These microfibre towels are not only thin and light, they are also sand-free and quick drying. We love Prism in lavender for its arabesque vibe and unisex colours.
Scottish brand Tens use warm tinted lenses that make everything look inviting. It’s like living in an Instagram feed! The best bit is that they are sustainable glasses too, made using biodegradable materials.
We love this Mara Hoffman jumpsuit which would look chic at the beach club or the bar and club. Incredibly, it is also made from sustainably-sourced hemp. Win-win.
The designer of Savapile makes each hat by hand in her cool studio in downtown Athens. From stylish visors to elegant wide brim floppy hats, one of our favourites is this chic structured shape.
Despite the warm climate, Dubai restaurants and malls love to crank up the AC. To avoid catching a chill, nothing beats a shawl which doubles up as a blanket for the airplane. Very punchy in price but we love this cosy one from Jil Sander.
There are some accessories that would look out of place on a school night or on the school run. But, when you’re on a beach vacay, anything goes. We love statement jewellery after the beach with a long linen summer dress. These 'Eye M' by Ileana Makri earrings would do the trick nicely.
Ideally, you should protect your skin before going out into the hot sun. But, just in case, this cream is great for cooling and moisturising after being out in the elements. The combination of sea, sun and sand can dry out the skin and this organic lotion by Green People is the perfect remedy.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our Dubai packing list - the only thing left to do is enjoy your trip!
If you’re looking for something a little more active than a mid-morning nap under the palapa, maybe some of these activities will inspire you to go off the beaten path.
